2. Comments and spam

When visitors leave comments we collect the data shown in the comments form and the visitor’s IP address and browser user string to help spam detection.

3. Browser cookies

If you leave a comment on our site your name and email address are saved in your browser’s cookies.

These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. You can delete these cookies manually or automatically in your browser.

When you log in, we will set up cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, screen cookies last for a year.

If you select “Remember Login” on the login form, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account the login cookies will be removed.

4. Social login data

If you login with your Facebook, Google or Reddit social profile, we collect your public profile data from your consent that you have granted from the social network.

This data includes your social media first name, last name, email address, social profile link, unique identifier and social profile avatar and is used to create your user profile at our website for a more convenient user experience.

You can revoke this consent and disconnect your social account by sending us an email. We will remove your data and send you an email with a password reset link. You can use that link to create a new password to log into your account on our website via email or username.

5. Who we share your data with

Unlike most websites, we do not use any Google analytics, external fonts, scripts or similar 3rd party services who could track your activity and harm your privacy. All your data stays on Germanizor.com.

We don’t send or share your personal data to 3rd parties. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

If you purchase a course, your payment and credit card information is processed through Stripe.

6. Embedded content

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

It is your responsibility to protect your privacy using an ad-blocker like “uBlock Origin” to control embedded content, tracking scripts and cookies.

7. How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment or post in our activity feeds, the comment or post and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up posts or comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

8. Rights over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
